Sirens

Windows, open curtains, morning
Whatever's been stolen was never hers to begin with
Watching as the wind blows
Open eyes beholding remnants of the fire
A stillborn revolution

Sea change?
You see a change I don't see
Your alphabet, I don't speak
It breezes away in indifference
I just want to stay alive standing in the sunrise
Knowing that I won't freak out in the wild for good riddance

The sirens call for me, but I refuse
'Cause what I do is all for me to choose
I won't rely on booze to drown the blues
The sirens call for me, but I refuse

Courage, gilded blue and yellow
I doubt you'd ever felt hope the way I feel in my own heart
Tell me all your stories of your trials and glories
Of the souls that you sold
You'll never penetrate my art
